DUBLIN YOUTH DANCE COMPANY& THE IRISH YOUTH DANCE FESTIVAL

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Dublin Youth Dance Company and Artistic Director Mariam Ribón are happy to announce the Irish Youth Dance Festival 2012.

DYDC is ever expanding and this year we have a record number of members, 42 young dancers between Junior and Senior Companies.

We are proud to announce that the Senior Company has been invited to perform at the Radial System in Berlin in May.

We are also honored to be in collaboration with the Costume, Make Up and Photography departments of Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology and Sallynoggin VEC.

DYDC outreach programmes have facilitated workshops in The Lynn Jackson Dance School and the Garage Theatre in Monaghan, Rockford Manor Secondary School in Blackrock and Notre Dame School in Dundrum.

This year the festival will be held over two days at the Pavilion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire on Saturday 30th of June and Sunday 1st of July.

The IYDF is one of the most exiting youth dance events in Ireland. The Festival has been running for 11 years offering a platform for young dancers and choreographers, both nationally and internationally.

The festival is growing every year in quality and participation, and this year as a result of the multiple collaborations DYDC and the IYDF will reach to the wider community.

DYDC is calling for submissions from Irish based youth dance companies, Irish Dancers studying abroad, young artists and choreographers in Contemporary Dance, Hip-hop and ballet.

We are looking for fresh, edgy, creative, original and current pieces in all dance styles.

The maximum length of the choreography must not exceed 12 minutes for a group piece and 6 minutes for solo work.
