DYDC 2010
Dublin Youth Dance Company has just launched its 2010 programme of dance events which includes a range of dance activities from performances, workshops and hosting the Irish Youth Dance Festival, to a cultural exchange with the Czech Republic and a new transition-year dance project.
An overview of 2010 dance activities includes:
- Every Sunday: Weekly contemporary dance classes and rehearsals held in Dun Laoghaire.
- March 17th: Participation in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin.
- March 19th: Dublin Youth Dance Company’s dancers featuring in Fearghus O’Conchuir’s dance. work “Open Nice” at the Pavilion Theatre, Dun Laoghaire.
- March 29th: Invited to perform at the Art-Youth-Culture event hosted by the Arts Council.
- April 8th: Invited to performance at the Longford Dance Festival.
- April 25th: Invited to perform at NOISEmoves Dance Festival at the Civic Theatre, Tallaght.
- June 26 & 27: Hosting the 10th Irish Youth Dance Festival, Pavilion Theatre, Atelier Festival, Dance Theatre of Ireland’s Centre.
- September 2010: Commencement of Transition Dance Project, Rockford Manor Secondary School.
- September 2010: Dance auditions for new members.
- September 2010: Official establishment of Junior section of Dublin Youth Dance Company, (12-15 years).
- Autumn 2010: Cultural exchange to the Czech Republic.
- December 2010: Open House at Dance Theatre of Ireland’s Centre.
