DYDC in SPAIN
2007 “Encuentros de Danza” or Dance Encounters had its first edition in June, 2007 between Debla Danza, Spanish Dance Company from Burgos, where Mariam Ribón comes from and Dublin Youth Dance Company. The Spanish company was invited to come to Dublin and perform in The Pavilion while DYDC went to Spain and had a performance in one of the main theatres of Burgos, the Clunia theatre. There were in between workshops together as well as it was a great occasion from both companies to visit different countries and learn new cultures.
2008 This year the exchange took place again in June with fantastic results. Debla Danza brought to Dublin a brilliant choreography, for which, ironically, umbrellas were needed.

DYDC was also during a week in Burgos taking classes with Debla Danza, participating in workshops and, this time, performing twice, one in Burgos, in the same theatre than last year, and a second time in Aranda del Duero, a very worm village near Burgos.
