Dance Classes

¿Would you like to take classes with Mariam Ribón?

Classes every Monday & Wednesday from 7:00- 8:30pm @ the Dance House in Foley Street, off Talbot Street, Dublin 1.

Mondays
The class focuses on floor work in which alignment is a key element. The floor work is influenced by some of the principles outlined in Pilates technique and yoga incorporating gentle stretching within a dance context. The outcome is a gentle and effective total workout which tones and shapes with the added benefit of relaxation as well as tapping into the creative dance experience.

The second part of the class consists of developing a sense for fluid movement, musicality and rhythm and technical aspects of movement that aims to be free and natural. The technique is revealed to you in a comprehensive, simple and non-threatening way. This class is ideal for those with sensibility for dance that want to explore and broaden the possibilities of their minds & bodies.

Wednesdays
Warm up starts standing up, a selection of movement designed to stretch the spine and muscles while working on the alignment, improving the balance through an effective use of the core muscles which facilitate the transfer of weight.

The class progresses through a range of dance routines, whose elements consist of plies, tandues, centre exercise, adagio, diagonals and jumps. To finish, a salutation provides a cooling down of body and mind, instilling a calming and soothing effect on the entire being.

The combination of dance elements and Mariam’s unique approach to teaching provides the participant with a very enjoyable and comprehensive dance experience

This class caters for people who have some experience in various forms of dance and movement techniques such as: Yoga, Pilates, Martial Arts, etc. and aims to offer the participant a unique and fresh approach, challenging them to reach their full potential.
